UNIVERSIDAD DI TELLA
Competition. Finalist
The University as a Social Condenser.
Our proposal for the extension of the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, an “Open Collaborative University”, aims to reflect and expand on the apparatus of university education. A modern university is a space for education, research and innovation. However, especially in architectural education, the exchange of ideas is equally if not more important. Therefore, the exchange of knowledge and social interaction between students, staff, and visitors is key to elaborate ideas and discourse. The new open building of UTDT aims to house both education, research and innovation in highly efficient classrooms and workshop spaces, as well as the urgent interaction in large open and collaborative spaces at every level of the building connecting the people that use the building, the different buildings of UTDT, and position the University in its highly active surroundings. The new building acts as a connector and social condenser.
